House Speaker called on Mayorkas to resign in November.
Representative Pat Fallon of Texas has filed articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The articles allege “high crimes and misdemeanors” and were filed as House Resolution 8. The resolution has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
Congressman Fallon stated that the policies of Secretary Mayorkas “have undermined law enforcement activities at our southern border.” Representative Fallon went on to outline perjury before Congress regarding the border and the “whip-gate” slander against border patrol agents as examples of the DHS secretary being unfit to head his agency.
“His willful actions have eroded our immigration system, undermined border patrol morale, and jeopardized American national security. He has violated the law, and it is time for him to go,” Representative Fallon added.
In November, Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, now the House Speaker, called for Mayorkas to resign over his handling of the crisis at the border. At the time, Congressman McCarthy said, “If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action, and every failure and will determine whether we can begin impeachment inquiry.”
Secretary Mayorkas has repeatedly said that the border is secure and the country has a broken system of outdated laws.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Speaker McCarthy to be led by God as he heads the House of Representatives.
- For Congressman Fallon as he seeks to hold the DHS secretary accountable.
- For members of the House as they deliberate and vote of legislation and resolutions.
